Application of 4-Arm Stainless Steel Spider Fittings in School Skylight Glass Structure
Beautiful School Architecture with Modern Skylight Design
Are you looking for a safe and elegant way to connect glass for skylights or curtain walls? In this blog post, we take you to a vibrant school where stainless steel spider fittings play a vital role in both aesthetics and functionality.
Above the entrance to the underground parking lot, there’s a spacious steel-framed skylight covered with tempered glass. The structure is surrounded by lush green sports fields and rows of teaching buildings. In the background, a crane works diligently — painting a picture of harmony between modern architecture and educational space.
Why 4-Arm Spider Fittings Are Ideal for Skylights
At the center of the glass panels, we used our factory-supplied 4-arm stainless steel spider fittings (also referred to as glass spider fittings, spider claws, or spider arm fittings) to securely fix four pieces of glass to one structural point.
For side positions, 2-arm spider fittings and 90-degree corner spider claws were used, effectively adjusting to structural shifts while minimizing the risk of glass cracking.
Why Not Attach the Glass Directly?
Directly mounting the glass to the steel frame can lead to breakage due to structural deformation or thermal expansion. Our stainless steel spider fittings provide a flexible connection, distributing stress and improving long-term durability. These fittings are also visually minimal, making the whole structure cleaner and more modern.
